Umbrella making workshop

At the end of the umbrella-making experience, a craftsman hammers in ‘topenails’ in the same way as for umbrellas used in everyday life.

The nails are used to prevent the umbrella from being turned inside out by the wind.

The bamboo is cut to size with a small knife and attached to the handle, and the nails are hammered in as a token of appreciation for choosing Tsujikura.
