We received an order for a welcome umbrella from Ichiriki-tei, a venerable "ochaya" (teahouse/geisha house) of the highest prestige in Gion. It is a historical ochaya that also appears in the Kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura." The original name was "Mantei," but as this play became a huge hit and widely known, the establishment eventually adopted the name "Ichiriki," the name used in the play.
