Tsujikura's Tradition × An Umbrella Connecting to the Future
Tsujikura was founded in 1690.
For over 330 years, we have preserved and passed down the craftsmanship and spirit of Japanese umbrellas.
The primary materials used in this experience, Japanese paper and bamboo, are made in Japan. We provide the same materials our artisans use in their daily work.
The gentle light and shadow created by washi paper, the delicate curves drawn by bamboo. Within that small circle dwell the essence of the seasons and the warmth of handcrafted work.
“Painting is a time to let your individuality blossom.”
Samples depicting seasonal flowers are also prepared.
The finished product will be placed in a gift box for you to take home with you that same day.
―Using a small Japanese umbrella as canvas: ‘Paint with free expression’―
Painting supplies: Watercolor paints, brushes, pencils for sketching, sample design drawings, etc., are provided.
・Seasonal flowers, traditional Japanese patterns, etc. Feel free to draw whatever you like.
・We can add names (in Roman letters or hiragana) or commemorative dates.
・We can also sketch a design before adding color.
※We will advise you on what can be completed within the allotted time. You are welcome to provide your own design concept.
