Article: Miniature Japanese Umbrella Crafting
Miniature Japanese Umbrella Crafting
At Tsujikura, we also produce miniature-sized traditional Japanese umbrellas in our own workshop.
Using the same bamboo materials as the larger umbrellas, each one is meticulously crafted by artisans through various processes.
The carefully selected bamboo is split, processed, and assembled into a frame, then adorned with colorful washi (Japanese paper).
The traditional techniques that define authentic Japanese umbrellas are condensed into each piece.
Not only are they perfect as interior decor to brighten up a room, but they are also recommended for special occasions such as the Peach Festival and as gifts for loved ones.
