~Days in the Workshop~
Bamboo is one of the most important materials in making traditional Japanese umbrellas (wagasa).
At Tsujikura, we are committed to using only domestically sourced materials without compromise.
As a Kyoto-based workshop, we are especially particular about using bamboo grown in Kyoto.
One example is the bamboo from the famous Bamboo Grove Path in Arashiyama, a well-known sightseeing spot in Kyoto.
Recently, our workshop staff had the opportunity to help maintain the bamboo grove.
We removed weeds from the surrounding area and observed the growth of this year's bamboo shoots, deepening our knowledge and appreciation of bamboo.
