~The difference between a bangasa and a janome umbrella~
There are two types of Japanese umbrellas (rain umbrellas): bangasa and janomegasa.
The umbrella has a thick frame and handle, and is simply made to allow you to feel the beauty of the bamboo.
Janome umbrellas are characterised by their gorgeous designs, with the inside of the umbrella decorated with thread and covered with washi paper that resembles a full moon and crescent moon.
Anyone can use it, regardless of age or gender.
The Japanese umbrellas sold at Tsujikura are made using domestic materials and are individually handmade by artisans.
Why not take a stroll through autumn Kyoto with a Japanese umbrella in hand?
