The Season of Autumn Leaves
The season of autumn leaves will soon be upon us once again.
The Tatsuta River in Nara is renowned for its beautiful autumn foliage and is even celebrated in a poem from the Hyakunin Isshu, the famous collection of one hundred classical Japanese poems.
Inspired by this poem, we have depicted colorful maple leaves drifting and gathering along flowing waters, using gold and silver paints against a deep black background to create an effect reminiscent of traditional Japanese maki-e lacquer art.
Why not make this beautiful wagasa a part of your autumn foliage memories?
This design will be crafted into a large-sized Hime Wagasa (traditional Japanese umbrella) and, after the final finishing process, is scheduled to be available in our store around the middle of next month.
As each umbrella is entirely hand-painted, only one piece will be available.
