This time, we are making Japanese umbrellas with a traditional pattern called "snake eye pattern."
As the name suggests, it comes from the fact that it looks like a snake's eye.
First, the outside is pasted, then the inside and bottom sides are pasted with washi paper.
It's a delicate and very time-consuming technique.
The white rings bring out the individual colors, creating a beautiful snake-eye umbrella with a dignified elegance.
