Flower opening /chamomile sunray / Japanese parasol
Traditional Japanese Parasol: "Hana-hiraku" (Blooming Flower) — Hana-kanzashi
A traditional Japanese sun parasol that captures the breathtaking moment of a flower in full bloom.
The moment you open the parasol, the splendid Yuzen pattern on the interior canopy blooms before your eyes like a blossoming flower. Infused with traditional Japanese craftsmanship and refined aesthetics, this design gracefully elevates both sunny strolls and memorable occasions.
The canopy is crafted from meticulously hand-dyed Kyo-Yuzen washi paper that softly filters and diffuses natural sunlight. Carefully selected natural materials are used for the frame and handle, achieving an exquisite balance of lightweight elegance and comfortable handling. It is an exceptional piece, perfect for everyday enjoyment or as a cherished gift.
A Symbol of Beauty for Cherished Moments
Experience the timeless beauty of Japan in your daily life with the "Hana-hiraku" parasol.
『縁 -En-』(Connection & Destiny)
Crafting a single Wagasa requires the harmony of numerous master artisans: shaping the bamboo ribs, carving the wooden runner hub (rokuro) that holds the frame together, and hand-making the washi paper. Skilled artisans at Tsujikura then assemble these elements into a single finished parasol.
A wagasa is born from the meaningful connections (En) between craftsmen, and we pass this precious bond forward to our customers and the next generation. Dedicated to connecting people across the world through our craft, we named Tsujikura's parasol series "En."
[Kyo-Yuzen Washi Paper]
The production begins with jizome, dyeing the base color across the entire sheet of washi, followed by irosashi, where intricate patterns are hand-stenciled layer by layer for each individual color. Finally, the paper is carefully dried using heated plates and warm air, resulting in vibrant, luxurious hand-dyed Yuzen washi.
*Please note: This product cannot be used in the rain.
