Classic pattern Tomoe "Pale Moon"

Classic Pattern: Tomoe "Tan-getsu (Pale Moon)"

The tomoe is a pattern passed down through generations.
Its shape is said to represent the flow of water and whirlpools, or to be modeled after the magatama beads that house the soul.

Possessing both strength and mystery, the tomoe pattern
circles beautifully within the round form of the Japanese umbrella,
creating a sense of quiet movement and depth.

■ "Tan-getsu"
A parasol featuring a black tomoe pattern layered over a soft "Koetsu-cha" (tea-brown) traditional base color.

Amidst the gentleness of moonlight shining faintly,
the black tomoe adds a dignified presence.

Though composed of subdued tones,
the opened umbrella radiates a distinct elegance,
a design that beautifully complements any Japanese-style space.

The flow of the tomoe, depicted through the kiribari (cut-and-paste) technique,
and the exquisite craftsmanship of our artisans.
It is a piece that carries the elegance characteristic of Tsujikura.

The handle is made of black bamboo.
The feel unique to this natural material, which grows more familiar to the hand over time, is one of the joys of owning a Japanese umbrella.
