Tsujikura "Kiwami" Specially Selected Tsukiyakko: Snowstorm on Jet Black

■ Kyoto "Kurotani Washi" × Kyoto "Wagasa-ya Tsujikura"

Traditional crafts that have been protected and nurtured throughout a long history.
The paper-making village of Ayabe, Kyoto, produces "Kurotani Washi," an extremely rare handmade paper where every single sheet is crafted by the hands of artisans.
Its features are its durability and longevity; because it can withstand long-term preservation, it is also used for the restoration of cultural properties.
Skilled artisans at Tsujikura have taken this rare Kurotani paper and meticulously crafted it over time into a janome-gasa (bullseye umbrella).
We present to you an exquisite masterpiece born from the collaboration of "Kyoto Kurotani Washi" and "Kyoto Wagasa-ya Tsujikura."

■ Special Selection Tsukuyakko "Jet Black Blizzard"

"Jet Black Blizzard" is a janome-gasa featuring a Tsukuyakko design, where deep black and delicate washi patterns intertwine. The "blizzard" pattern set against a jet-black background uses washi paper made by intentionally leaving the outer skin and dark bark of the kozo (mulberry) plant, evoking the warmth and character unique to natural materials.

The contrast creates a mystical beauty, reminiscent of snow dancing in the silence, and enhances the unique atmosphere found only in Japanese umbrellas.

With meticulous attention to the handle and frame, and crafted using traditional techniques with domestic materials, this is a masterpiece that allows you to fully appreciate the charm of handiwork. Adorned with sophisticated elegance, "Jet Black Blizzard" is a perfect piece for special occasions or as a gift for someone special.
