From among these colors, we carefully selected Japanese colors that fit well with the Japanese umbrella and made them into handmade Japanese paper.
We are particular about natural raw materials and used black bamboo for the handle, which fits comfortably in the hand.
The inside of the umbrella is decorated with two layers of Japanese colored decorative threads that match the color of the umbrella.
All of them enhance the appearance of the Japanese umbrella.
Tsujikura’s special selection of janome umbrella “Kurotiku” is made by hand by Tsujikura’s Japanese umbrella craftsmen, who are particular about the raw materials they use.

“Fujimurasaki” is a bright blue-purple color like that of wisteria flowers.
This color name is a combination of “wisteria,” which has been popular among women since the Heian period (794-1192), and “purple,” a symbol of noble colors.

How to Use the Wagasa
When you walk carrying the closed umbrella, please grasp the head of the Wagasa, or for Janome please grasp the cord on the head, and for Bangasa please hold the leather strings bound around the head.
How to Open the Wagasa
The Wagasa may be difficult to open due to the waterproof grease on the Washi. Please lightly grasp the bottom of the runner at the bottom inside the umbrella, and slowly and carefully push to the top to open the Wagasa.
