Creating a One-of-a-Kind Hime Wagasa Umbrella

Our recent guests joined us from the UK and the United States.
During the Hime Wagasa making experience, guests choose their own washi paper and complete the same traditional processes as our artisans, including “stretching” and “folding and finishing” the umbrella by hand.

After completing their umbrellas, they also enjoyed taking commemorative photos together with their handmade Hime Wagasa.
One of our guests from the UK was a fashion student visiting Japan to discover new ideas and inspiration for their creations. We hope this experience became a source of inspiration for their future work.
