This is a hands-on experience where you create your own one-of-a-kind umbrella while engaging with Kyoto’s traditional craft of wagasa.
You begin by selecting the washi paper, then spend time freely painting your design. On this occasion, the guest chose to paint their company name, and plans to display the completed wagasa in their company lobby.
In this way, the experience is ideal not only as an artistic expression symbolizing a company’s philosophy or milestone, but also as a welcoming feature for spaces that receive guests. The finished wagasa can be taken home on the day.
