With the last cherry blossoms of the year
Kamo Wakeikazuchi Shrine This shrine is popularly known as Kamigamo Shrine.
The enshrined deity is Kamo Wakeikazuchi no Okami.
The vast grounds, which include two national treasures and 41 important cultural properties, are all registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Every year on May 15th, the shrine is decorated with hollyhocks and the festival attendees wear hollyhocks, hence the name Aoi Festival.
This shrine holds festivals to pray for the peace of the nation and the well-being of its people.
Among the lingering cherry blossoms are the Tsuki-nu snake-eye umbrellas with their beautiful contrast of black and yellow, and the indigo snake-eye umbrellas.
Listening to the sound of rain can soothe you and help you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
