Product Details
This umbrella is made with Washi paper. It is slim and light, the most simple style and easy to use. It is recommended for the first Wagasa. Maiko and Geiko in Kyoto are actually using this type of Wagasa.A new jyanome pattern has been added to Tsujikura’s original “KIWAMI” series, made of Echinaka handmade Japanese paper. The jyanome pattern, with a white circle in the center of a Japanese umbrella, is an ancient and very popular pattern.
It is made of the finest Echinuchu washi paper, which is hand-made from strong fibers of Kozo (paper mulberry) and dyed with plants and trees.
In addition, the hajiki, which is used to hold the umbrella open, is made of wood instead of metal, thus reproducing the traditional Japanese jyanome umbrella more closely. We hope you will enjoy the pleasant sound of opening and closing that can only be experienced with a wooden hajiki. The beautiful wabi color, the texture of handmade Japanese paper, and the fine and neat workmanship by skilled craftsmen make this a luxurious and exquisite snake’s eye pattern.
-Mustard – mustard color
