This Japanese umbrella combines the peony flower with an arabesque pattern in a traditional Japanese auspicious pattern.
The peony is well known as a flower that brings prosperity and happiness because of its large and gorgeous blossoms.
The arabesque pattern is a design of intersecting tendrils and leaves, and is known as a pattern symbolizing eternal life, prosperity, bonds, and continuity.

▪Kyo-yuzen Japanese paper
“Jizome” is the process of dyeing the base of the entire washi.
Next comes the “Irosashi” process, in which the paper is dyed using a mold frame. It is repeated as many times as the number of colors.
Finally, the paper is dried with a hot plate and warm air to produce gorgeous hand-dyed Yuzen Japanese paper.
