〜Waterproofing of rain umbrellas〜

There are various types of Japanese umbrellas, and among them, rain umbrellas are waterproofed by applying oil to Japanese paper to repel raindrops.
After the Japanese paper is stretched over the frame of the umbrella, oil is applied evenly, and the umbrella is left to dry in the sun for several days until the oil dries.
It is a time-consuming and labor-intensive process, but our craftsmen are very careful in each and every step of the process so that we can provide high-quality Wagasa to our customers.
