Gion Festival, the Kakyoyama Preservation Society
The Gion Festival is one of the three major festivals in Japan, and attracts many locals and tourists every year.
We were asked by the Kakyoyama Preservation Society to make a folding umbrella.
It was an opportunity to see the passion and efforts of the society to pass on the Gion Festival,
which has more than a thousand years of history, to future generations, and to learn once again the importance of passing it on.
